About Burbank
A little history of Burbank.
Burbank is one of the newest municipalities in Cook County, incorporated only in 1970 after residents of an unincorporated area voted to govern themselves. It takes its name from the school district serving the area, itself named for the horticulturist Luther Burbank. Almost all of its housing was built in the post-war decades, before the village formally existed.
