Lombard mixes a large regional retail and office district on its southern side with older residential neighbourhoods and the Illinois Prairie Path running straight through the village. The Prairie Path is worth naming: a continuous off-road route through several towns with no vehicle access, it lets people move between addresses in a way that no amount of road-based surveillance will capture.
Why we are called to Lombard
About Lombard
Settlers reached this grove in the 1830s, and it was known for years as Babcock's Grove. Josiah Lombard, a Chicago banker, bought and platted land here and the village that incorporated in 1869 took his name. A later resident, Colonel William Plum, assembled a celebrated lilac collection and left it to the village — an inheritance that still draws visitors each spring and gives the town an identity beyond its size.
We have worked across DuPage County since 1991. Knowing a community — how it was laid out, how it grew, how people actually move through it — is part of how an investigation gets done properly here.
