Wheaton is the DuPage County seat, and the county courthouse and administrative complex sit here. That single fact makes it the most legally active town in the county and the one where our attorney-support work concentrates. Divorce, custody, probate and civil matters filed anywhere in DuPage are heard here, which means reports prepared for Wheaton are prepared to the standard of the judges who sit in it.
Why we are called to Wheaton
About Wheaton
Brothers Warren and Jesse Wheaton gave land for the railroad pushing west from Chicago in 1849, and the settlement that formed around the tracks took their name. Wheaton College was founded in 1860. In 1868 the county seat was moved here from Naperville — an outcome contested sharply at the time — and the courthouse has anchored the town ever since, giving it a legal and civic character its neighbours do not share.
We have worked across DuPage County since 1991. Knowing a community — how it was laid out, how it grew, how people actually move through it — is part of how an investigation gets done properly here.
