About Barrington Hills
A little history of Barrington Hills.
The village was incorporated in 1957 for an unusual reason — not to develop land but to protect it. Residents of the large country properties and horse farms north-west of Barrington organised to establish minimum lot sizes that would prevent the subdivision then spreading across the region. The policy held, which is why the village still consists of very large wooded and equestrian parcels, and why its boundaries sprawl across four counties.
We have worked across Cook, Lake, Kane and McHenry Counties since 1991. Knowing a community — how it was laid out, how it grew, how people actually move through it — is part of how an investigation gets done properly here.
